Anti-atherosclerotic effect
Up until your 25th birthday cholesterol is an important fat for growth and repair of your cells. But when the building process is complete, cholesterol is not needed as much. If we are out of balance, the cholesterol begins to gather as plaque on artery walls. If the calcium metabolism also is poor, an even harder and more hazardous plaque will be formed.
At age 50, many people’s blood vessels are blocked to 50 percent. At 75 percent blocking the oxygen supply is so impaired that you start to feel the symptoms in your brain and heart, perhaps also in the legs. Arteriosclerosis is our most common national disease. I dare say that the only way to get rid of arteriosclerosis is to work with the breath.
When catecholamines are formed it also triggers the formation of alpha cholesterol that clears away the plaque in blood vessels. Calcium sales improve when the hormonal system is activated, so that the tougher plaque deposits begin to dissolve. At the same time widens the blood vessels by the increased carbon dioxide levels, so that there is less tight also in blood vessels where there is already plaque. The body’s reserve capillaries which are activated by sudden danger also wake up during hypercapnia. The reserve capillaries represent enormous power reserves at danger, but, with the help of breathing exercises they can also be used to improve blood circulation in a body that is clogged up by plaque.
